The first assessment tool I chose was Socrative. I chose this tool because I have not heard of Socrative before today. It's an assessment tool that gives immediate feedback. I was able to create a quiz easily. The quiz response choices are multiple choice, true/false, and short answer. The only drawback I found was that there is no built-in feature to search the web and upload images. I can only upload images that are saved to my desktop. There is also a "Space-Race" that allows the teacher to split the classroom into teams to allow them to work in groups to complete the quiz. I created an assessment using Socrative. This tool will be beneficial for me because I present a tech pd monthly at my school. I will use this tool to check for the teacher's understanding in professional development. This is yet another interesting tool. Please see the link below.
The second assessment tool I chose was Wordwall. I also chose this tool because I am not familiar with it. Once I created an account and clicked "Create Activity", my eyes widened. I was shocked at how many options are available for quiz making. There is a regular quiz option, a game show quiz, and an image quiz. This tool will be beneficial for me because I present a tech pd monthly at my school. I will use this actual quiz to show the features of the Wordwahll platform in a Math setting. This will be another engaging tool to use to present to teachers, to keep their options open. Please see the quiz below.
Hello Brittney,
I agree with some of your statements Socrative like instant feedback on quizzes. I like that there are a lot of options when creating activities. I will admit that I had issues with how to have the quiz accessible to the students. Also notice what you said regarding the inability to use pictures off your computer.
Hi!
I appreciate your post because I have yet to get a full grasp on Socrative, although I have heard many teachers rave about how much they love using it for assessment. Unfortunately, I was unable to see your Socrative, but I couldn't help commenting anyways after hearing about your experience with "Space Race." This seems like a super cool feature for teachers who collaborate in many ways, especially with sharing groups of students. It makes staying up-to-date with student progress much easier. I also used Wordwall for one of my assessments. I was blown away by all of the options as well. I will definitely be using Wordwall in the future! Great job on your activities!
