Before this course, I had never heard of Audacity. So, I had to sit down and take the time to read all of the resources provided this week. I also watched a great YouTube tutorial on Audacity. I will attach the link at the end of my reflection. I also wrote down notes that I thought would be important to put this project into action. For recording purposes, I used an iPhone app called “Voice Recording.” It is free, easy to use and it’s in mp3 format. The app also gave the option to transcribe the audio, for a small fee. I enjoyed interviewing my husband. He’s not a man of many words, so this was kind of a challenge for him as well. It was an opportunity to grow.
I also found the intro and outro music on a royalty free music website. I will post that link at the end of my reflection as well. This website also has tons of royalty free music. It required me to set up a free account. I used the instrumental song called “Celebration” by Kevin MacLeod. I had to figure out how to sync the music with my narration. Once I researched how to drag the clips, I took a big sigh of relief and the music and interview fell into place. Overall, I enjoyed the learning process of creating this project. Before this assignment, I thought I would need a lot of fancy equipment to be able to podcast. That is not the case at all! Listen to my interview below!
